Funny story - wish it was mine.

Told by a veteren NCO:
I sent a young medic PL (2LT) to get a PRC-8 from my HHC 1SG. I reminded him that the appropriate way to ask for it was not to say P - R - C, but to shorten it and say "prickie" since the 1SG had no time to waste with little things. Long story short, young LT asks 1SG for some commo equip and asks where he can find a "Prick E-8."

I did push-ups in my foxhole for a long-time for that one.
This must be an OLD story, because the PRC-8, -9 and -10 were tube-based radios that entered the Army inventory in 1951. They made it to Vietnam but were replaced during that conflict with the transistorized PRC-25. Anyway, OLD but funny.
